July Bucket List
-
Move It! Move It!
I was rear-ended on June 1st and it’s been two steps forward, severalteen steps backwards since. My car was totaled (a moment of silence for Nessie) but thankfully I was able to walk away from this:
My back has been bothering me which terrifies me. My aunt has back pain and there are days she is stooped like a question mark. Mom had back surgery and still has issues walking and moving about. I am starting therapy for my back but after seeing my primary care doctor, she recommended that I move as much as I can and I am going to keep moving while I can.
Walking and eventually running is something I would like to start up again. I miss that high from running. I miss trying and succeeding in beating my previous time. I miss not breathing like Darth Vader.
For the month of July my goal is two miles. Near my house there is a two-mile loop that I have been talking about making my goal. I will start with this, now walking and working on beating my base time of 37:52 minutes. Eventually I want to be able to run this stretch and then start adding more distance until finally I am able to run from my house to a coffee shop I have been eyeing in which is located three miles away.
Somewhere in the dark corners of my mind I think that I need to work a long distance run into my life and make one of Philadelphia’s many, many, many races my thing again.
It is officially July and I can’t believe it myself. I usually keep mental lists and that doesn’t change this month with the exception that I am being a little more verbal since I have a new competition that I am blogging about as it approaches in August. Here’s to you rocking out your goals.
The year is moving much too quickly, but I like the idea that July can be a reset month
Time does go extremely fast. You should add fruit picking. We did blueberries one year and it was great. We had muffins for days.
I’ve been having dog-fever also lately. Doesn’t help that my closest cousin has a few cuties of her own and she’s always talking about them. It’s really time I get a dog!
I like that July is a starting point for the rest of the year – I will definitely be hitting the reset button!
