So.
I am loving Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. Buffy and Charleeeeeeeennnnnnne swear by it, buying skein after skein to make really cool afghans. I am a late convert; I balked at the price tag (almost 7 bucks a skein from Michael’s!!) and the yarn just seemed so… bulky. The skein I did buy was on sale and earmarked for teaching The Bee how to crochet* After the smallish beach tote I completed for Pop, I decided to make a second beach tote for The Bee using the T&Q. The pattern called for a bulky weight and the Merlino Wool that I used for Pop’s bag did not come out quite like I thought.
The bag is finished! Yay! Despite only starting Wednesday, misplacing the book that the pattern is in and losing my hook (boo!), I finished it Saturday during the Scout Father/Son basketball game at White Rock (that is so another post!).
The bag reminds of this sling thing Ar-boo’s mom used to carry Arboo around in as a baby but The Bee loves it, promptly using it to carry around a toy and a snack.
I finally started the hat I promised my friend Sheralyn. I am using Wool-Ease Thick & Quick for that as well. Not sure that I like the way the pattern is working out. The yarn is really thick and the hat reminds of something from a picture I took when I was six.
We’ll see.
Pics later
Happy hooking,

*So far this has not happened. The Bee’s mind is willing, her body not so. The reverse is opposite for me!
