Hello July!

Say it Rah-shay By Jul 01, 2026 No Comments

July is here; it’s super hot. I am running two marathons in about three months, and I am peri (maybe meno?) pausal.

Gulp!

In addition to the running that I need to do, I have been consciously making moves to ensure that my 5-9s (am and pm) are robust and juicy so that my 9-5 does not have me living for the weekend.

A tall order!

Random goals for July.

Fitness Things

  • Run 76 miles this month. Why 76? I need to do longer runs because of the aforementioned marathons. 76 miles because Philly is America’s birthplace, something about 1776, and why not?
  • Continuing with the race training: weight training. My left leg has been bothering me for a bit, and I think it’s because I have been skipping leg day. I am adding some weight training back to my routine. 10-20 minutes to start and then bumping it up.
  • Daily stretch. I am proud of keeping my yoga and stretching up and want to find some group classes.

Crafty things

  • Completing the crochet projects that I started. On my hooks: a granny square blanket and a hip scarf for The Bee.
  • Curtains for my kitchen. I made one pair and just stopped.
  • Start my junk journal. It’s not just a regular journal. It’s a cool one!

Food Things

  • Continue my plant-based diet. My Meatless May continued into June, and I thought, why not keep it going in July?
  • Continue working through “Cozy Vegan” by Liz Douglas. (I love this book!)

Social Things

  • Do a new-to-me class or activity after work at least once a week. (that 5-9 thing)
  • Play more board games (this could also be a social thing)
  • Say “yes” when invited to a thing with friends.
  • I want to get more politically active. Since I have a platform – this blog space- I should use it to talk about crafts and fighting the power.

Family Things

  • Days out with Mom and The Bee
  • Date nights with The Librarian

House Things

  • Continue decluttering. I want to get rid of 465 things this month.
  • Keep the garden going. It’s usually about this time of year that I let things die. This year, I will grow a zucchini!

Work Things

  • Find a way to get out of the rut that’s making work feel like, well, work.

That’s it (that’s enough!)

I am going to blog daily as I work on these goals and July it up. Join me here and on Insta.

It’s your turn…what are your goals for July?
