R is for Record #AtoZChallenge

Second week…not so enthusiastic.  I was so confident about week one that I kind of goofed off week two. Record my calories? If I remember. Who cares that I ate a gummy letter, had a scoop of peanut butter, that bread with lunch? No one saw so it doesn’t count…right?

And the gym…nelson

But I still managed to lose two more pounds week two.

Hola!

I decided that I would totally count calories, work the program, stop worrying about it “not feeling fair” mad that I have to, like exercise self control and that I can’t eat all the foods. When my BIL generously picked me up from my meeting, he, along with The Bee and Pickles, decided we should head to Bobby’s Burger Palace for dinner.

The burgers here are tasty.

And full of calories.

And not what the plan for dinner was.

So I checked the menu and saw that there were options for salads. The Topless Burger Salad which is any burger served on top of baby greens with Balsamic Dressing or the Crunch Salad which is Chopped Vegetables / Romaine / Crispy Tortillas / White Cheddar Cheese / Balsamic Dressing.

I got the Crunch Salad which I thought I was the best choice. Greens! Veggies! I see you.

Yeah….The food came out and:

That salad was sad, disappointing and awful. Chunks of cheddar, a whole lot of green, some beans and olives and little else. I should have just said no.

When I tweeted this out, someone suggested I send it back, something that never occurred to me. I was hungry and had started eating but it was not enjoyable.

Later, as I recorded my calories for the day I was under, way under, and should have enjoyed the yumminess that is a juicy burger.

Lessons:
Record calories as I go and never, ever order a salad at a burger joint.
