Each year crafters from different walks of life come together for a fun day knitting and crocheting, creating mittens, gloves, hats and scarves for Philadelphia’s homeless population. Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds-Brown has hosted this event for 19 years. The Fiber group that I belong to usually grabs a table or two and we get together to stitch and chat.
With Councilwoman Reynolds-Brown stepping down this was the final get together. The crafters produced scores of hats, scarves, and warm winter wear making me feel confident that the children of Philadelphia will be nice and toasty through the winter months.
