“Smart & Sexy” Day at Career Wardrobe Empowers Women Seeking Employment
For 20 years, Career Wardrobe has been known for helping women make that all-important first impression for their job interviews. On Thursday, March 26, Career Wardrobe and The Alliance of Career Development Nonprofits (ACDN) will host Smart & Sexy Day at The Wardrobe Boutique (1822 Spring Garden St.) in honor of Women’s History Month.
Smart & Sexy Day will provide professional image training, inspirational workshops, and personal support to local unemployed women enabling them to take action to secure employment. The all-day event will include motivational talks given by successful area women, information on how to dress for your body type, free bras courtesy of Ariela and Associates International’s Smart & Sexy brand as well as a free business outfit from Career Wardrobe.
This event was launched in 2012 by The Alliance of Career Development Nonprofits (ACDN), a national organization of independent, community-based member organizations who provide professional attire and career skills training to low income women, and sponsored by Ariela & Associates International, one of the largest privately held lingerie companies in the country. Career Wardrobe and eight other ACDN member organizations are kicking off events in March throughout the country aimed at helping women prepare for employment.
The workplace has become more competitive than ever. For low-income and disadvantaged women, confidence to compete for jobs is built on a foundation of knowledge, skill building, improved personal and professional image, and individual support.
