Last week over at The Good Life blog the list called for ten songs. I shared my ten which are quite happy kittens and bright rainbows but for some reason I started thinking about break up songs. No, this is not me sub blogging so everyone let out your collective breaths; Effin’ Guy and I are cool. I just started thinking about all of the best break up/revenge type songs and thought I would share the ones that make me giggle.
1) Cheater, Cheater by Joey and Rory
I don’t know how or why this song is in my library but I will not complain. Rory is pissed and I can’t blame her.
Yeah I just wish you’d tell me this one thing before you go
Cheater, cheater where’d you meet that low down, up town, slept with every guy around, pressed on eyelash, no good, white
2) Bust the Windows by Jazmin Sullivan
I’ve almost been that angry and sweet succotash can I relate!
I bust the windows out your car
You know I did it cause I left my mark
Wrote my initials with a crowbar
And then I drove out into the dark

You know you are madder than a bleep, bleep to bust windows out of a car.
3)Before He Cheats
The Bee thinks its funny that I like this song and while I will never share with her all of the events from that fateful day with The Dad, let’s say Carrie hit the nail on the head.
Right now, he’s probably dabbing on 3 dollars worth of that bathroom cologne…
And he don’t know…

Cause anytime you start cracking on his cheap cologne…
4) Don’t Speak by No Doubt
Before she was a Hoolaback girl (whatever that is) Gwen fronted No Doubt.
I know just what you’re saying
So please stop explaining
Don’t tell me cause it hurts

Been there, done that.
No. I don’t want to be friends.
No, I know its you and not me.
Uh, where were we?
5) Irreplaceble by Beyonce
To the left, to the left…
Standing in the front yard telling me
How I’m such a fool, talking about
How I’ll never ever find a man like you
6) You Oughta Know Alanis Morrisette
Way back when I was a younger, childless Rachee this song used to be my mantra after a particularly bad break up. I will spare you the gory details but lets just say that Alanais Morrisette cassette (yeah, I’m old) doesn’t owe me a thing.Yes. Alanis and I tore City Line Avenue up many a night.
And I’m here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It’s not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know
7) Eff You by Cee Lo Green
The title alone is what’s up but if you want some lyrics:
I pity the fool that fall in love with you.
(Tee hee…I pity the fool always makes me think of Mr. T!)
8) Someone Like You by Adele
I’m kinda meh on the lyrics.
She gets dumped and tells dude she wants. Someone. Like. Him.
And finally, because it just seems so apropos,
9) Crazy B*tch by Buck Cherry
This has nothing to do with breakups but really, when will I have a chance to feature this song on my blog again?
Oh, and you’re welcome.
This list is by far incomplete!
What are your jilted lover, bad break up, I hope he rots from the inside out songs?
Share them in the comments!
