This week I am all about spray paint. For reasons that I cannot clearly state, I have a variety of colors of spray paint that I have been saving for “some day” and some day was this past week.
First I rescued an old window screen that my mom was throwing out.
The screen was pretty dusty so I wiped off some of the dust and then washed it with some Murphy’s Oil Soap and allowed the screen to dry for a few hours.
After it dried, I laid it on a piece of poster board that was in the house and my daughter and I went to town. We chose Sweat Pea, a pink color, to use on the screen.
After we sprayed the whole screen we let it dry for a few days.
Once dried it became a cool jewelry holder!
The Bee hasn’t decided what she wants to do with it yet. We were thinking jewelry holder/bulletin board.
We are open to all suggestions and want to hear yours!
Love it – great job on making something useful again!! Pinned & Tweeted!!
I really love that old screen and the color you chose! What a great idea to hold earrings and pretty too! Pinned and Tweeted!
When I first brought the screen home my daughter was a little weary. Now she loves it! She says she is going to use it to keep her memories in one place.
Great project Rachee! I shared it on a few social networks. 🙂 Love how simple and easy you made it seem.
This is a good idea to make it a jewelry holder and I need one too.
What a great way to re-use an old window!
That’s a great idea to re-use and reduce waste! I see a lot of possibilities with this one!
I am so impressed by you creative types. I would have no clue what to do with that screen. I like the bulitine board idea. Or maybe a frame for a photo collage.
