I love me some alphabet books but let’s face it, alphabet books can be kind of long to read to a little listener. I was first introduced to Chicka Chicka Boom Boom when my niece was younger. She came home from school one day excited about some alphabets falling out of a tree. At that point the only alphabet book that I had read to her were ones that followed the formula “A is for…” and “B is for…” and so on and so forth. Again, not to knock alphabet books but 26 letters and descriptions and what not is a lot to read sometimes.
Which is why I absolutely love Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. It’s fun to read and to listen to, it introduces the letters using bright awesome pictures and there are so many ways to share it.
For my library’s Feature Friday I shared the book. This video is a little longer than most; I read the book twice, first straight through and then in a version taught to me by my friend Mama Carla.
