Write a Review Wednesday: Robot Books

In Dan Yaccarino’s Doug Unplugs on the Farm, a little robot takes a hands on approach when his family takes a visit through farm country. In a world in which we are so connected to our smart tools this book is a nice reminder that hands on is sometimes best. During a drive to visit […]

Book Review: George Washington’s Teeth #warw

February 5, 2014

February is National Children’s Dental Awareness Month. This, along with President’s Day on February 17th, inspired me to share George Washington’s Teeth, an amusing book which chronicles the trials of George Washington’s teeth issues. All of my life I had been taught that George Washington had teeth made of wood. In Deborah Chandra and Madeleine Comora’s […]

Write a Review Wednesday: Don’t Play with Your Food

January 15, 2014

Allow me a moment to gush about Bob Shea. He writes the best books for preschoolers full of potties, being quiet in the library, bold sharks afraid of spiders and just seems to get their world. His books are a blast read and share and he has written a new book to add to your […]

Write a Review Wednesday: Cleo in the Snow

January 8, 2014

It’s been so cold in these parts and here is a sweet book to share with your preschooler. Cleo in the Snow (Cleo the Cat) by Stella Blackstone and Caroline Mockford is a joyful book about a cat’s romp in the snow. This book is told in rhyming text and is accompanied by bold drawings. […]

Write a Review Wednesday: I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean

July 24, 2013

In Kevin Sherry‘s I’m The Biggest Thing in the Ocean, a giant squid brags about being the biggest thing in the ocean, a claim he clings to even when danger strikes!   This is such a fun book to share! Our Giant Squid Hero is so confident in his claim of being bigger that he turns […]

100 Day Dress Challenge: Halfway Mark

Another hump day hustle!
I left my other book at the doctor’s office (I know) so I finally started @christinahammondsreed’s #TheBlackKids and y’all.
Batching days 51-54 wearing #rowenaswingdress because reasons. Ok. One reason is that I keep forgetting to grab my photographer and this batch of selfies are some struggle selfies.
First treadmill run since last summer’s sad treadmill run and it wasn’t so bad. Visited @planetfitness for the first time in a while and not only have they done a complete remodel, I didn’t feel unsafe, it wasn’t crowded and I was able to get my run on.
The lone tween who attends my weekly book club suggested this book to me. She picked a winner! So far “Premeditated Myrtle” by @elizabethcbunce is a cute and fun read and makes me want to do some sleuthing.
Is pasta for breakfast cool because I’m really about to smash through the leftover feta pasta. I was trying to save this for my family but I’m hungry and they’re asleep so... #sorrynotsorry
