World Knit and Crochet in Public Day

World Knit and Crochet in public day is actually a week long celebration of needle arts. Crocheting, and now knitting, can be such a solitary activity but this week one is encouraged to join a group of like minded crafters and get hooked.

Want to get started but not sure where to begin? I share some of my favorite pins to help get you started.

Learn how to read a yarn label (spoiler…it DOES make a difference!)

What is the deal with those symbols that’s on that pattern?

Want to make a magic circle? You’re welcome!

Knitting and can’t figure out short rows?

Need some great blogs to read?
I LOVE FreshStitches. Her posts are always on point, bright, very easy to understand and full of great information.

Mooglyblog has great patterns for both knitting and crocheting. Some are more advanced than others but each pattern seems possible.

Stitch 101 is another blog with great tips and tutorials for crochet lovers.

The Lion Brand Yarn Studio is a great resource. Their blog is full of great patterns to use with their yarns. There is even a great podcast to go along with it, Yarn Craft featuring Zontee and Michelle who are fun to listen to and make me want to create, create, create!

More inspirational (and my favorite yarnthings!) can be found on my Pinterest board.

I’m on Ravelry as Sayitrahshay. Check me out.

Hope you can sneak some time in to craft!
Happily hooking,

I am mom, daughter, sister, yarn lover, word lover, crazy cat lady and library chick. Find me with book or with hook and a hot cuppa.
