The Thanksgiving Thankful Post

Say it Rah-shay By Nov 24, 2011 No Comments

So. Earlier this week I blogged about how I hated the part of Thanksgiving in which my family forces us to go around the table and say what we are thankful for. Yes, I do dislike this part but as I’ve gotten older I can appreciate the idea of giving thanks and being grateful. So here be my list:

I am thankful for my family. The last few years have been quite emotionally draining and there were times when I wanted to throw in the towel and say forget it. My people have been my support through my whines, sobs and feelings of hopeless helplessness. They have encouraged me when I was feeling low and been my best supporters when I was feeling on top of the world.

I am VERY thankful that none of my people have been hospitalized. At one point in time someone from my family was being admitted for various illnesses. Yay! I am very thankful thankful that everyone is well and that we will all be together today to bust a grub.

I am thankful for my kid. I am so happy that we can share the parade and the day. I know her dad probably is missing her and I can only imagine that feeling but I am grateful that we are spending the morning together.

I am thankful for my guy. He’s been so understanding with the change in my schedule and I haven’t felt pressured about not being able to see him as often. Thanks love!

I am thankful for my job. Not just that I have one (I am grateful) but I am thankful that I a job that allows me to be imaginative, creative and has room for growth. I enjoy that I am challenged and that my new co-worker is encouraging me to be creative once again.

I am very thankful for all that I have. My health, my family, my life. A few years ago I was in such a dark place that I didn’t know up from down. I still have some dark days but there is a light that I can imagine even if I can’t always see it.

Enjoy your day friends and have some turkey for me!

Happy Turkey Day!
