On Thursday, April 30th, is the start of the three day NFL draft. The Philadelphia Eagles (E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!) drafts picks, as found from the website Bleeding Green Nation, are:
Round 1 – No. 20
Round 2 – No. 52
Round 3 – No. 84
Round 5 – No. 145 (From St. Louis Rams)
Round 5 – No. 156
Round 6 – No. 196
Round 7 – No. 237
While waiting to see which teams pick which players, check out The Philly Smash, created by Beam Suntory Master Mixologist Bobby “G” Gleason.
The recipe is listed below.
1 part Jim Beam® Honey
2 lemon wedges
6-8 fresh mint leaves
Preparation: In an Old Fashioned Glass muddle the lemons first, then the mint. Fill glass with loosely crushed ice, add whiskey and stir. Garnish with a lemon wedge on the rim or dropped in the glass.
Using supplies I had at home, I recreated the drink:
In lieu of crushed ice I used Star Trek USS Enterprise shaped ice.
Grabbed some mint from my garden
Muddled the lemon using a spoon (I had to improvise!).
and bottoms up!
The Philly Smash is simple to make, refreshing and tasty and suitable for responsible adults to enjoy!
Tell me…What other cocktails should I try with Jim Beam Honey?
