My workouts have been in such a rut! I fully own that I have not made them a priority. In the morning I am so busy rushing to get to work and can barely slurp my coffee. Afternoons and evening find me exhausted or rushing to do some mom/girlfriend/work/daughter duty which leaves me drained and only wanting to crawl into. I dig the irony that if I took some time to workout then perhaps, just perhaps, I would not so danged tired and blah. I am in a rut and need to climb out of it.
Last night my sister and I hit up Target (because Target) and I took a look at some things I thought I would like to help kick start a new found love for working out. As we drove to Target, I shared with my sister how working out has become a chore and how I was eager for the days when it would be something I looked forward too instead of feeling like a chore. She suggested that I remember what it was that I liked about working out and start there. I like how I look in my workout gear, the feeling of accomplishment when I was racing and the satisfaction of feeling stronger.
I headed to the workout gear which all seemed to be on sale. I thought treating myself to an outfit or two might be the way to go. How could I not fly on the treadmill or max out wearing outfits like these:
But it’s not JUST WHAT I am wearing but what else is surrounding me. It may not come to a surprise to anyone that I kinda have a chaotic home. It’s a little on the messy side and there are weeks when my days begin with lots of “Where’s my keys?” and “How do I only have one shoe?!”
Target has a few things to help create a more calm home and I considered whether I should take some time to organize my home with some of the neat gadgets from Target. It may help to cut some of the chaos and get me back to a more centered me.
As much as I love gadgets, perhaps it is a combination of things to help me get into shape. A combination of mind, body and friends to help me reach my goal. Embracing who I am instead of focusing on where I want to be is the best attitude to get me back into the swing of things.
My trip to Target yielded me some things for home, body and soul and the desire to do a few more crunches.
This post was inspired by a recent trip to Target and the desire to get fit.
I keep saying if I had some cute outfits to workout in I may actually do it. As much as I’m in Target that’s one section I’ve never visited. I’m going to check their workout gear out next time I’m in there!
Check it out! Like Amiyrah wrote, sometimes it’s a little thing to get you going!
I love the idea of getting into gear with a new workout outfit! Sometimes it takes the smallest and easiest thing to get us motivated. Great post!
Thanks Amiyrah! My daughter HATES those pants so I know I made the right choice.
I love Target and don’t miss a chance to shop there! If my trip is “kids-less:,even better! I can take all the time I want to walk around and check out stuff to my heart’s content! They have some great prices too! Glad to know that you had a good time at the store!
Target is a good place to wander and window shop! And going sans kids…awesome!
