Friday Favorites: It’s A DIY Kinda weekend

Say it Rah-shay, yaRRns By Jan 04, 2013 No Comments

So, my goal of No Spend January is being tested as the weekend looms. As I looked around the house I noticed so many things that need to be done and the first thing that popped into my head was a trip somewhere to shop.

To distract myself I took to Pinterest and scrolled through some of my saved pins.

Viola, I mean, voila!

My pins have given me some ideas as to keeping up with my no spend weekend. Instead of shopping for loads of things and then feeling bad about shopping, I plan to make some of those pins into a reality.

As seen on Pinterest

An editorial calendar for the blog.
Effin Guy had a bunch of old cork boards/ bulletin boards in his basement and gifted them to me (yes, the inner hoarder in me is gleeful). The smaller board is going to be made into this editorial calendar and will be for use of me getting my blog in order. (I feel behind already!).
I love this idea. Each post type is color coded for post ideas/weekly meme/ etc.
I found a bunch of colorful paper and post it notes at home that I can use for this month!

I also found a plethora of notebooks!
Nothing quite as fancy as the one below but I like this idea and will make use of all of those sticky notes.

It’s that time…my hair needs to be re twisted and I am feeling like some scissors should be introduced.
I was thinking of trying Loc petals.
This style looks a tad more…meticulous and time consuming but what the hey.

The Delaware Valley is supposed to be blanketed with snow sometime soon and…what the heck. I just like making hats!

I’ve started watching Doctor Who and, while this may reek of poserism (that’s a word…I just made up) I am digging the TARDIS hat.

And what is a hat without a scarf?
It’s knit but I am going to give it a go.
I’ve started a crochet one that I call The Kitchen sink scarf. I’ll post pictures next week.

I also have a ruffle scarf that I need to make. Here is a link to a tutorial I used (and star in).
Ahem.

What does your weekend look like?
