Write a Review Wednesday: Chick ‘n’ Pug

Not all superheroes wear tights. Sometimes they are covered in feathers or fur as in Jennifer Sattler’s Chick ‘n’ Pug. Here we find a bored Chick seeking excitement and adventure in the tradition of his hero, Wonder Pug. When by chance Chick meets a Pug, he vows to help keep things safe from the evils that is everyday living.

What a fun read! A huge imagination fuels the story and Chick is such a sweet likable character. Pug is also a charmer, just trying to take a nap and escape his well meaning and loving mistress.

General Considerations:
This book is a fun read aloud. It would also be good for superhero lovers and animal lovers. Despite the shortness of the book this simple story would be good for children through kindergarten. The illustrations are charming and straightforward to accompany the story. The text is simple yet packs a lot of action. This would read great for a group and I’m interested in seeing what reading this with a few props would do for the story.

A must have for the pug lovers in your house!
