So.
In the bar of life there are days that I am like top shelf liquor; expensive and fine. There are the days that I am the dusty bottles of vintage wine to be savored and sipped. And then there are days like today when I am the abandoned martini glasses with a cigarette crumpled in it.
Today was that day.
Today was indeed a Manic Monday.
Any and every crumpy, junky song was the theme for the day:
Go Set Go: I Hate Everyone (Do I really need to explain this?)
Steelers Wheel: Stuck in the Middle With You (Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right)
Colin Hays: Overkill (Cause if I got one more bitchy e-mail I was going over the edge!)
Jason Mraz: Geek in the Pink (Although I wore grey today)
Billy Idol: Rebel Yell (With a rebel yell, she cried more, more, more! One more thing and I was tempted to yell, yell, yell!)
Anything from Alanis Morrisette
Jamie Lidell: What’s the Use? (I’m a question mark, a walking talking questions mark)
Duffy: Mercy (Why won’t you release me?)
Ayo: Down on My Knees (I’m begging you)
Green Day: Boulevard of Broken Dreams (Technically I work on an avenue)
Matchbox 20: Unwell (I’m not crazy, I’m just a little unwell)
Otis Redding: Hard to Handle (uhh, have you not been reading?)
Nikka Costa: Everybody’s Got Their Something. (Today the something was a huge case of crazy)

‘Cause you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You’ve seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
You forgot Bad Day by Daniel Powter
That should have been at the top of my list!!!
Thanks for adding this one.
