#SOCS: I Love Me

Look Better Naked By Nov 04, 2012 3 Comments

I usually post my Stream of Consciousness thoughts on Say it Rah-shay but guess what’s happening? Yup. The desire to shame myself for still being heavy. Here is what I have to say about it this week.

Two conferences I have recently attended spoke about fashion and wardrobes. Inititaly I counted myself out, cause, well, I’m fat and out of shape and sweet lord don’t y’all know that I haven’t done anything about it so I do not even deserve the luxury of the thought.

But this thought pattern is getting old and exhausting. Yes, there is way more of me to love than I would like but there really is no reason to walk around looking like a slob. Also, I like the way I look with new lipstick, hair did, those jeans that make my legs look good. But once again I start to downplay that positive reaction and find myself elbow deep in a bag of 100 grand bars that are not even sweet or enjoyable.

This is not a manifesto for losing weight and getting in shape. This is not me fat bashing. This is the plea for me to get out of my head and love the skin I am in or..to do something.

That something is not signing up for a 5K or swearing that I’ll go to the gym.
The something is to love and enjoy the skin I’m in starting now.
So, I am Rachee. Who is heavy. Who is out of shape, who is not ready to go to the gym but I love me and that’s where I start.

This was my Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five-ish minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…

  • Set a timer and write for 5 minutes.
  • Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw. (See above)
  • Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
  • Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post. (Click the badge above to go to the site!)
  • Link up your post on Jana’s site.
  • Visit the other bloggers and show some love.

What a lovely, important start. Anything can happen now, because you’ve begun.

May all things beautiful be yours.

Your turn! Tell it to Rah-shay!
