WHAT: Skating and the King of Pop

There aren’t many things that go together better than Michael Jackson and roller skating (in fact, we found this awesome video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x-Ffd1kP1g), so we’re throwing him an early birthday party this Friday. What to expect? The region’s best Michael Jackson impersonator, some Thriller dance lessons, DJ Touchtone from Old School 100.3 spinning tributes, MJ movies, plus tons of giveaways while supplies last, including black fedoras, sparkly gloves, cupcakes, t-shirts and more. The event is free and open to the public, though roller skating is additional.

WHEN: Friday, August 28 from 6PM-9PM (Michael Jackson impersonator on-site from 6-8PM)

WHERE: Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, Columbus Blvd at Market Street (101 S Columbus Blvd)

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Michael Jackson impersonator singing and dancing at the rink (fingers crossed for on skates as well)
  • DJ Touchtone – the world’s greatest blind DJ – spinning center rink
  • Kids and adults wearing black fedoras and white gloves learning Thriller moves
  • A celebratory birthday cake and cupcakes for rink attendees
  • A beautiful night at Philadelphia’s only outdoor roller skating rink
