Several years ago The Bee and I made a decision to spend Halloween night at home and thus Halloween Gluttonfest was born. Since The Bee goes to a Catholic school and has November 1st (All Saints Day) off, there is no pressure to make it an early evening.  We take total advantage of a weekday movie night complete with pizza ordered from Leandro’s, soft drinks and junk food…HEY!

With the move to a new neighborhood, and our family now including The Librarian, The Bee and I had a chat abut how the tradition would continue. Should we dress up and go door to door meeting our new neighbors under the guise of getting candy? Would Halloween Gluttonfest be missed since Halloween falls  on a night I am scheduled to be at my partime gig? Should we scrap our old plans and create a new tradition to include The Librarian? Should we open our house to neighbors, creating a new Halloween experience? We decided to continue Halloween Gluttonfest and this year we are going to include a movie on Demand from Verizon Fios.

Get it ON DEMAND!

We have a free rental, a gift from Fios when we moved services, and we plan on using it towards our double feature movie night. We are going to start with Nerve with a Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which premieres this week on Starz. It’s going to be a night of getting comfy, chowing down on pizza and enjoying our movies between greeting trick or treaters visiting our home.
