When The Bee was little we watched Easter Parade starring Fred Astaire and Judy Garland so much that I darn near had it memorized. Hannah and Hewes were a couple of swells and we would sing our heart out as they performed and got ready for their Easter parade, while falling in love of course.

This year, Philly residents can celebrate one of our city’s oldest Easter traditions as South Street Headhouse District presents the 83rd Easter Promenade on Sunday, April 20th. Hundreds of families will fill the street as they wear their Sunday best and join master of ceremonies Henri David, musicians, the Easter Bunny, and even Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cottontail. hop on down to South Street Headhouse District for some FREE, egg-citing family fun during the 83rd annual Easter Promenade on Sunday, April 20, 2014.  Come dressed in your Easter SundayBest and promenade down South Street in this grand and popular tradition. Master of ceremonies Henri David returns to lead the parade from Passyunk Avenue/South Street down to Headhouse Square (2nd Street).  Enjoy Easter treats, live music from the Philadelphia Freedom Band, the Bunny Hop, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cottontail and much more until 2:00pm. Bring your camera and stick around to meet the Easter Bunny himself, and see who wins the best dressed contests!
