A Facebook friend shared pictures of herself sporting a bold red lip color and I fell hard. My usual lip color, when I can remember to wear anything, tends to be somewhere in the brown family, a color I have worn for many years. My friend and Mary Kay consultant Kim kept trying to get me to at least look at other colors but I resisted, sticking with what I knew and look at other colors but I resisted.
A few weeks ago I decided I wanted a change. Not a cut all of my hair off type of change that I would STILL be whining about a year or so later but something a bit more subtle and decided red lips it is. I called Kim and she provided a sample of Really Red from Mary Kay. I tried it but it was a little too pink, fuchsia for my liking.

I called Kim and shared my thoughts. Kim hooked me up with Firecracker Red and I am hooked! The color looks good on me. It brightens my face, makes my smile look fabulous and doesn’t slide off of my lips before my day really gets started.

I really cannot thank Kim enough for helping me get my look. She was as patient as I was picky helping me to get the look I wanted. After both the sample lip color and my final selection she called to see how I made out, if I liked the color and just to check up on me.
The lip color is creamy and bold. It lasts on me for most of the day; I do reapply after eating or drinking. It does leave a mark so please know that cups and mugs will sport your dramatic color. I feel so much more confident when I wear my new color. As a self-proclaimed novice when it comes to the art of applying make-up I can say that I am comfortable with this product and the results I have had.
Kim works her Mary Kay business with her daughter, Janine. During January and February they performed makeovers for women who lived in domestic abuse shelters as part of The Mary Kay Foundation. Each year Mary Kay gives $10,000 to the shelter in the United States with the most need.

That is a great lipstick color for you. I tried some Mary Kay out not to long ago after not having used it in years and they have stepped up their game. They have so much great stuff now. That is awesome too what they did for the women's shelters.

I love lipstick but I don’t own any haha. I never wear the stuff so I threw all mine out last year. It fades so quickly on me and I generally only wear lip salve. But I think it looks so great on other people.
