Belly Busters: Cafe Rue 52

After being told of a new creperie opening on 52nd Street, The Bee and I stopped decided to stop by Cafe Rue 52 on our way to scouts last week. We are always looking for local places to eat and were not disappointed.

Located at 503 s. 52nd street, Philadelphia, PA 19143 the cafe serves crepes, espresso and a selection of teas.

The Bee and I were greeted by friendly staff who welcomed us to the cafe. As we studied the menu, we never felt rushed or hurried making our decisions about our meal.

Since The Bee has a dairy allergy, we asked about substitutions for menu items with dairy. The cashier gave us different options and helped us select our meals.
Because we were on the go, we had our meals wrapped to take with us and had a short wait for our food. While we waited I met the owner who was friendly and professional and also welcomed us to the cafe. The seating area is very cozy. There is really funky art work to view and plenty of seating.

The food was really good and illicited a request from The Bee to go back later that day. I think if we had gotten home from volleyball early enough I would have complied.

For real.

So, if you go:
The food was delicious! It was filling and had a great flavor. But, for my next visit I will allow time to sit and eat; I think having our crepes wrapped made them a tad soggy.

Parking is on street and there are no meters on the side street.
There were plenty of open spots available.

The price is reasonable.
Our total bill was 16.00 which we would have probably spent somewhere else for a less filling meal.

Free Wi-Fi!

What a cool entrance, no?
Next trip we’ll dine in and enjoy the ambiance.

My coffee waiting to be doctored.

The waiting area…so comfy!

A huge selection of syrups for drinks

The owner (whose name I failed to get!) tweeting me
I really, really wanted to steal his seat!

The Bee didn’t wait until we got out of the car to nibble her crepe!

A second Bee Shot.
I gobbled mine too quickly and forgot to snap a picture!

“Mom! Have a seat! This chair is NICE!”
A high compliment from my tween.

Dans l’espoir de manger plus de crêpes!*

*Hoping to eat more crepes!
