When storytime goes RIGHT

Some days you feel like a nut.
Some days you don’t.
Rachée was nuttier than a fruit cake today.
The high I get from a new class, conference or workshop is so intense that I want to shout from the roof tops, bounce off the walls and spread the word. I guess this is the high the newly religious experience although I am not arrogant enough to compare work with religion. Not all of my co-workers share my feelings. I find that I have to rein in the Rachée gone wild and be sympathetic to people who appreciate a more traditional (aka quiet) work setting.

This is a problem at times; it has been so hard for me to not be Rachée* that I find any friction at what I do cause for alarm. I get upset and much like The Hulk’s alter ego, David Banner I was finding myself thinking: don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.

Instead of being hissy and pissy I used all of this angry energy to do my job (so simple; why have I not thought of this before?) and this was one of my favorite days.
Storytime to make you smile:
Maracas for order (my use only)
Jack Prelutsky’s Hiccups from It’s Raining Pigs and Noodles
Bill Grossman’s My Little Sister Swallowed One Hare
Inside Mouse, Outside Mouse by Lindsay Barrett George
Paul Galdone’s The Gingerbread Boy.
-puppet theater with assorted usually forbidden puppets
-gingerbread template and crayons, buttons and puffballs to decorate to taste
-stretches to shake sillies, jump jiggles and clap crazies IN.
The Book Diva re-creating the feeling she had at work today before her awesome hour.
*Becoming Rachée is still a work in progress. More on her transition later.

I am mom, daughter, sister, yarn lover, word lover, crazy cat lady and library chick. Find me with book or with hook and a hot cuppa.
