Twisted MixTape: This Song is Criminal!

Say it Rah-shay By Nov 26, 2013 34 Comments

I’m joining Jen’sTwisted MixTape and this week it’s all about songs that could get you in the clink!

Criminal  Fiona Apple

I’ve been a bad bad girl
I’ve been careless
With a delicate man
And it’s a sad sad world
When a girl will break a boy
Just because she can

Who amongst us hasn’t been careless with a delicate man (or woman)? By no means am I some type of female lothario but I’m sure that somewhere along the way I was not always so careful with other people’s feelings.

Bust Your Windows Jazmine Sullivan

Addendum: In a bout of sloppy blogging I had not changed the original song I was going to use. Please to enjoy the ultimate get back song.

I bust the windows out your car.
You know I did it cause I left my mark.
Wrote my initials with a crowbar
And then I drove off into the dark

Hell hath no…I’m just saying.

Bang, Bang Nancy Sinatra

I only know this song from Kill Bill and the naive part of me wants to believe that this is a song about unrequited love. Some of the other comments had some deeper meanings that I’m going to pretend that I hadn’t read. But bang, bang? She shot his butt after he broke her heart with his whispers of sweet nothings.

I shot you down, bang bang
You hit the ground , bang bang
That awful sound, bang bang
I used to shoot you down

Burnin’ Down the House Talking Heads

Duh

Bad Girls Donna Summer

So as a kid I totally thought this song was about people who were just hanging out, you know like I did on the front steps as a kid. Ahem. This song is about the world’s oldest profession.
Awkward!

See them out on the street at night, walkin’
Picking up on all kinds of strangers

BONUS!
Chain Gang Sam Cooke

I am no criminal. I would have gotten caught.

Hooh! Aaah!

Hooh! Aaah!

What’s your favorite criminal songs? Let known the comments or link your blog up with Jen!

I remember the first time I heard Fiona sing “I’ve been a bad bad girl”…I jumped up and said “i’m in!”

Good list especially Donna Summer and Talking heads

  3. When I was a little girl I was scared to death of the video to Burning Down the House. That just brought back so many (bad) memories LOL. The huge face on the side of the house was terrifying to me for some reason.

  4. Amanda says:

I had to sit back and think for a minute on this one but I love Fiona.

  19. My favorite would have to be Queen Bohemian Rhapsody.

    Mama, just killed a man,
Put a gun against his head,
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead.
    Mama, life had just begun,
But now I've gone and thrown it all away.

Yeah, we all know what this is all about, but when this came out I was little and I thought Freddie shot someone 🙂
