Broadway Philadelphia is delighted to announce that the national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, will return to the Kimmel Center’s Merriam Theater December 29, 2015 through January 3, 2016.
The show will be directed and choreographed by Tony® Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler, choreographer of the current Broadway sensation, Hamilton. One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is the irresistible family musical about the trials and triumphs of Joseph, Israel’s favorite son. The first collaboration of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber (Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Cats) and lyricist Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Lion King), Joseph blends pop, country, and rock into an uplifting, technicolored story of biblical proportions.
Broadway Philadelphia is presented collaboratively by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Shubert Organization.“We’re thrilled to welcome Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat back to the Kimmel Center,” said Anne Ewers, President & CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “This long-running musical has been beloved by audiences for decades and its messages resonate even deeper when presented around the holidays.”
Produced by TROIKA Entertainment, LLC, the tour features Scenic Design by Beowulf Boritt, Costume Design by Jennifer Caprio, Lighting Design by Howell Binkley, Sound Design by John Shivers and David Patridge, Projection & Video Design by Daniel Brodie, and Music Supervision by David Kreppel.
