In My Ears: Mat Kearney

I hate to admit it but my musical tastes have me stuck between the mid eighties to the late nineties. My normal thing is to set the dial to my local NPR affiliate and listen to whatever show is on. If I do change the dial I seek out familiar tunes from the my comfort zone and I listen until the DJs play something that I have no idea what it is. I promised myself that I would branch out of my comfort zone and when One 2 One Network offered me a chance to listen and review Young Love, the new album by Mat Kearney I was excited to try out a new artist.

‘Cause that was the real you running through the fields of gold wide open
Standing in places no picture contains
That was the real you, windows down, we could smell the mint fields crying
Sing with the radio to song we can’t name
