I’m participating in the SITS Girls Comment Love event and really enjoyed this post from Mommy’s Block Party introducing me to Ondria Witt. I enjoy lists posts likes these, a way to get to know a bit more about the blogger. Here is the Rachee edition:

Good Eats- What’s For Dinner Tonight?
My friend Hanne invited me to lunch and served a delicious soup made from root veggies. I tried to make this recipe tonight and it came out more like a soup salsa, chunky and thick. I’m just going to warm up a bowl and keep it moving.
Whatcha Reading?
That thud you hear is me jumping on the train led by John Green. I am reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I’m only a few pages in but have been told by quite a few people that this book will require a box of tissues.

Listening to Anything Good?
I’m still digging Happy (from Despicable Me 2) by Pharrell Williams. It just makes me want to dance and clap.

Whatcha Been Watching?
My sister hipped me to The Good Wife. The Pilot [HD] pulled me in and I stayed. Sometimes the episodes resolve just a tad too neatly and conveniently but it makes for really entertaining watching during the snowstorms.
I Dreamed a Dream of…
A few nights ago my car was broken into (effers) and I have been on edge. Ever since then I have had interrupted sleep and broken dreams. Last night I dreamt that I could float.Yup. Float. My Lil woke me up to be fed before I could figure out what that meant.
What I’m Lovin’ this Week…
I have been struggling with my teen but earlier this week we had such a great conversation, spent time together and I loved it.
I am so Done With…
I’m over winter. It’s the snow, it’s the cold and it’s a pain in the ass.
Silliest Thing this Week…
My kid has been declaring herself “so attractive” and uses her “attractiveness” as the reasoning for everything. It’s silly and I love it. Her confidence is adorable and infectious. I have begun telling myself that I am so smart and my smartness is what draws people to me.
What I’m Looking Forward to…
The snow has made me a bit of a hermit. I am looking forward to some time with people. I made a promise to myself that I was going to be more social this year and I am going to honor it. Coffee and yarn may be my motto for February and March.
So, that’s me. Thank you again Mommy’s Block Party for this idea. Like them, I’d love to hear how you’ve been doing this week, too! Leave your answer to one of the questions listed above in a comment, if you feel like it!

Enjoy the book. My daughter, who is an English teacher, loved it.

  9. I’m also 100% over winter. I live in New England so I’ve got a long way to go. We usually see snow well into March. But, the sun is getting warmer and the days are getting longer. And, daylight savings is just a few weeks away!

Hi Rahshay! You strike me as a person who doesn’t have any hang-ups and loves to live life’s little pleasures (I mean this as a compliment) and that’s what I’ve begun to do. I watch old Marlon Brando movies. read a good book, and hug my 3 beautiful grand kids. In between I indulge in a few bowls of pistachios & cashews and my favorite Chinese dish called Pata-tim! Been there. Done that. and don’t want to make my life complicated.

Your turn! Tell it to Rah-shay!
