Blog Tour: @JerseyFamilyFun Remakes Composition Books

Say it Rah-shay By Mar 06, 2014 17 Comments

A kid came into the library this week with a composition book that had no cover. I’m going to let that sit there for a minutes because *I* remember composition books being two things: Black and White and darn near indestructible. These days I have peeped composition books that are colorful, not marble and not sturdy.

But if you desire a little more flair, please visit Jersey Family Fun and check out Jennifer Auer’s post with great instructions to turn your composition books from Boring to Brilliant. (Psst…she uses a hot glue gun…swoon!)

I do remember those days when composition notebooks were indestructible. Now they are all pretty and very easily taken apart.

  3. Scott says:

Never had to use a composition book, but I did rock a mean Trapper Keeper!

  4. Emily says:

I love composition books! I agree with you, they’re quite flimsy now. I was going to buy one the other day, but opted for a spiral bound instead.

  5. You are quite right. I remember composition books well. They were black and white marble on the covers and they were super sturdy.

  6. I don’t remember where I was recently, but I found one of those old school composition books with the rock hard covers and I bought like 10 of them LOL. They are definitely not made the way they used to be!

I didn’t know that it was national craft month! How fun. I remember using composition books. They’re definitely not the same anymore!

  8. Sarah Bailey says:

I had no idea it was national craft month – you learn something new everyday – and what a fun thing to learn 🙂 xx

  9. I recently found out about National craft day. The crafty composition book sounds like loads of fun.

Composition books definitely aren’t made with the same quality anymore! Kiddos feel like they could fall apart so easily. He actually likes the black and white ones better than the ones with all the colors though.

I remember owning composition notebooks with my favorite movie/tv star on the cover. (LOL) Those were the days! Now, I do appreciate this type of creativity.

That's pretty neat! I wish I knew about this fun diy when I was in school! I think I still have a composition book from those days *gasp*

This is such a cool project! I used to just color in all the white areas while sitting in class.

  15. Ronnie says:

I’m pretty sure that my school STILL has those super sturdy books that I used. It’s like they never updated their books and are still teaching what I learned 15 years ago. :p And the books are still strong!

  16. Eliz Frank says:

This is a great project and it brings back great memories of making same in school. I love the idea of it. 🙂

Sounds like a great plan! Hope to see your project soon 🙂
