You’ve heard of 75 Hard? For the month of November, I’m doing my version — a Medium 30!
I kept hearing about this workout/lifestyle program called 75 Hard. It’s touted as a mental toughness program that has rigid rules for participants. When I looked into the program for me, I had a come-to-Jesus moment when I realized that my life is not set up to do a “hard 75.” As I read more about the program and looked at the progress of some of my running people, I wanted to do something (I like a little challenge) and thought a compromise of a November Challenge that I am calling “A Medium 30” would work for me.
The rules for 75 Hard are
- Follow a Structured Diet
- Two 45-minute workouts a day and one must be outside.
- Drink a gallon of water a day
- Read 10 pages but this must be educational, something that will improve your life.
- Take a progress picture.
For my Medium 30 I plan to
- Follow a veganish diet.
For me I will eat mostly at home (outside is expensive!) and I will be cutting sugar. I cut sugar for a week in October and wonder of wonders, I found my waistline! - Two 30 minute workouts a day
I have been doing cardio in the morning and a stretch routine in the evenings. I found some adaptive routines that I have been doing with my mom and it’s a little routine that we do each night. It helps me connect with her and she gets to have some company while she moves. - I am supposed to be drinking a gallon of water anyway to keep my kidneys hydrated, so this one isn’t quite so hard. I’m lying…sometimes it’s hard drinking so much water. I also don’t really appreciate my 2 am (and 3 am) bathroom trips.
- Read 10 pages a day.
I’m reading a combo of non-fiction and fiction because I am reading what I want. I am a librarian who’s TBR is piled high and she needs to get it together. I am also counting audiobooks. Argue with your mama. - Take a progress picture.
This sounds like a selfie a say and of course I can get down with this!
Yesterday and today I was pretty successful in my work.
Followed a vegetarian diet (Shout out to Burritto Feliz and their Fajita – veggie – burritto!)
Worked out twice a day
Drank sooooo much water
Started a new book (Deja Brew, a paranormal rom-com that seems delightful!)
Take a progress picture I did’nt post of social media but they exist.
I’m off to bed but before I go…Have you ever done 75 Hard or some other program? What advice do you have?
