Upper Darby Performing Arts Center Announces 2017-2018 Season!

Upper Darby Performing Arts Center is one of Delaware County’s most active community arts and cultural facilities. The 1,600-seat venue offers affordable, family entertainment performed by professional groups throughout the year and boasts one of the region’s finest sound system.

Tickets for the 2017-2018 season will go on sale to the public on October 9.

Upper Darby Performing Arts Center is located 601 North Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA. Tickets for all performances are available by calling the box office at 610.622.1189 or by visiting www.udpac.org.

Highlights of the 2017-2018 season include a performance by Grammy Award-winner Darlene Love who has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and who recently was featured in the Academy Award-winning documentary “20 Feet from Stardom.” Other highlights of the season include “Rhythm of the Dance” performed by the National Dance Company of Ireland, with a performance often compared to Riverdance; “Artrageous,” an interactive art and music experience with professional artists creating works of art on stage and accompanied by live music, powerful vocals and creative choreography; and “The Golden Dragon Acrobats,” a team of extraordinary acrobats who are recognized throughout the United States and abroad as the premier Chinese acrobatic touring company.

 

 

With a new, state of the art sound system that rivals any professional venue in the region, the stadium seating offers excellent views from any seat. “The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center is located on the campus of Upper Darby High School, but many people don’t realize we offer much more that school-related performances. The Performing Arts Center belongs to the community at large. It is a cultural venue that offers professional entertainment during the fall, winter and spring months making it one of the most active arts facilities in Delaware County,” said Harry Dietzler, Executive Director of UDPAC. “This is a performance center that Delaware County residents should be very proud of. Our ticket-holders travel from all over the Philadelphia region to see our family-friendly performances.”

A live concert by Bobby Rydell, Lou Christie & the First Ladies of Rock and Soul.

October 7 at 7:00 pm

Peter and the Starcatcher

The Tony Award-winning adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s best-selling novels performed by UD High School.

October 26, 28, 29 at 7:00 pm

The Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra

The LSO is widely regarded as the top local community orchestra and continues its tradition of musical excellence, service to the community, and promotion of area talent.

November 5, December 3, February 11, March 18, and April 29 at 3:00 pm

The Nutcracker:

Performed by the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet Society and is a family favorite and holiday tradition.

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

A is a new musical performed by Theatreworks USA, the prolific and renowned family-theater touring company.

Summer Stage Shooting Stars Holiday Spectacular

A musical showcase of song and dance performed by talented young adults to favorite tunes of the holiday season.

Performed by National Dance Company of Ireland in a song and dance extravaganza, often compared to Riverdance performances.

Artrageous

An interactive art and music experience where professional artists create on stage accompanied by live music and creative choreography.

A family musical based on the beloved children’s book series by Barbara Park and is performed by Theatreworks USA the prolific and renowned family-theater touring company.

Prince Charming: A Cinderella Story.

Pennsylvania Ballet II presents Upper Darby Performing Arts Center continues its partnership with the Pennsylvania Ballet bringing this exciting and brand new production to our stage.
