I love me some text messaging, indeed I do but I have the sneaking sensation that some of my most frequent texter are happier to communicate with me through a short misspelled sentence than by actual human connection.
What the holey hockey mom!
I have a friend who seemingly cannot talk more than a few minutes but loves to text me several times a day. I am privy to such gems as ‘thanjs’ and ‘wgat r u doin?’ and ‘im chillin how r u and urs’.
I was OK until my friend Mia told me that I was very curt on the phone. She says that my phone voice and my personality were so very different.
I had to stop a while. I wasn’t offended but I realized that I DO transform myself from nervous Rachée to ball-buster when I spark up a telephone conversation. Perhaps my curtness DOES make it easier to send me an odd ‘what r u doin l8r’ instead of a phone call.
I prefer to blame my cell phone. My service is so lousy that I tend to keep conversations short. Sorta.
Hmmm.

That’s hilarious, and I feel the same way. Although, I couldn’t abreviate if my life depended on it. I have to spell almost everything out. And if I were to start abreviating I’d feel like an imposter. I’ll give it a try:
btw, thnx 4 sbmtng ur pst!
I have a few friends like that, too. For some reason, I like to text too.
I text constantly and I prefer it to talking. I think I just prefer the written word

I like to text because the boys don’t get nutty like they do when I pick up the phone. Kind of like I’m incognito!
My kid has started texting me all of the time! At lest she is still talking to me.
