I am a McCafe Mom and was invited to a holiday party and offered compensation for attending. All opinions are my own.

The Bee, Arli and I were invited to the Ronald McDonald House in Delaware for a holiday party and to get a preview of some new menu items.

The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware provides a “home away from home” for families of seriously or chronically ill or injured children receiving treatment at area hospitals by offering nurturing and supportive environments where families can stay together and find comfort. Since their doors opened in June 1991, they have welcomed more than 35,000 families.

During our visit we learned that up to fifty families can be served and we were able to meet a few of the families who stay at the house.

Here are a few shots from the day:

We walked into the family style kitchen area and was greeted by the sight of cookies waiting to be decorated.

We met with local owner and operator Karen Traa and the PR representatives from Tierney, who served food for us!

What would a visit to the Ronald McDonald House be without RONALD who did tricks, told jokes and was pretty cool to hang with.

There was delicious McDonald’s food to enjoy.

Yes; I realize that not everyone enjoys McDonald’s and that there are a variety of opinions about it. For my family we enjoy it as a sometime treat.)

We took a tour of the house.

Trees decorated and donated by a variety of community groups.
