Say It, "Rah-shay"

Words from Rachee

Sashaying with #TBCCrafters

December 7, 2012

Hello Crafty Peeps!
I promised that I would share a crochet project for my next Blogger Connection Crafters Hop and here it is!

I am working with a new yarn that makes ! Want to make some

On my hooks I have a variety of projects that I have been working with, my favorite being a scarf made with Red Heart’s Boutique Sashay yarn. This yarn makes gorgeous, luscious ruffles and is so easy! I was inspired to make a scarf after attending my crochet group and seeing the variety of colors shared by a member.

I looked online for videos and there are a ton of them out there! I tried to follow along but really got the help to create a scarf from a kind woman at Michaels Store! She showed me and three other women a quick and easy method to make the scarf. Her version does not produce a scarf that is as full as other methods but her scarf is quick and easy and I was able to create one in 90 minutes!

Enjoy!

Six loops on the chain
Pull the hook through each and…
…a ruffle is formed

Made by chaining six and single crocheting through each
Creates a fuller look

Comparison of the two.
On the left is the scarf using the one loop method.
The scarf on the right is fuller as it goes through six loops.
Another view of the “one loop scarf”

The demo by a woman at Michaels.
I really wish I had gotten her name so that I could credit her!
I love her quick and easy method although the scarf is not quite as full.

I’d love to learn how to do this but I don’t think I’d have the patience for it. I love your color choice. 90 minutes, you could whip out a lot of Christmas presents quick!
