r’s note: I was sent a gift card to facilitate my review of Save-A-Lot markets.  All opinions are my own.

I can’t lie…I believed the hype.

There’s a Save-A-Lot in my area, two in fact, yet I would turn my nose up at them, driving past the location to go shop at other stores. I was convinced that Save-A-Lot wasn’t for me. Sure, it’s a discount store and though my grocery budget has been outrageous, we would just go without some things but continue shopping at our other stores instead of shopping at the discount store.

When I was offered the opportunity to become a Save-A-Lot insider, I thought I would participate, see what the hubbub was all about.

My sister and I went shopping and to my surprise, Save-A-lot is not what I expected. Bright clean aisles greeted us. Colorful, fresh fruit and veggies – perfect for adding variety to my meals.
