During the summer months my water bottle is like an extension of me. It is always nearby and I sip from it all day. From the moment I wake up, before I put on my makeup, I sip, sip, sip. The summer heat and humidity is a perfect combination to drink up but this winter has proven harder to stay hydrated. Philly winters are tough. It’s cold and windy and a nice hot cuppa is what I reach for instead of my water bottle. While I still keep my water bottle bedside so that I can grab a few sips in the morning, my big ole drafty house makes me crave my warm drinks to get up and get moving.
Adding NOW® Sports Effer-Hydrate and NOW® Sports Effer-Energy to my water bottle had helped me get in some extra glasses but I’ve discovered a secret: dropping a tablet into a mug of hot water helps keep my hydrated and keeps me warm!
I was sent four flavors Mixed Berry, Lemon Lime, Tropical Punch, and Orange Strawberry, to sample and here is are my thoughts.
Surprisingly my favorite flavor is the Orange Strawberry. It has a bright flavor and was the combo of orange and strawberry was not chemical tasting. The Lemon Lime was my least favorite. It has a very strong flavor that was more chemical and it left a bit of an aftertaste.
For flavored water, without the fizz, I would use one tablet in my largest water bottle (it holds about 20 ounces). For a fizzier, more flavorful drink, I went with two tablets. Two tablets would also satisfy that desire for something a little sweet and the fizz would cut the cravings for soda. In hot drinks, one tablet would do it and all of the flavors were good for sipping and thawing me out after a run.
Most afternoons I use the tablets in a mug of hot water so I can get something warm in me without the caffeine. It’s also a nice pick me up when that after lunch slump hits.
NOW® Sports Effer-Hydrate and NOW® Sports Effer-Energy are allergen free but are produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens. This is a vegan product and, again, caffeine free.
