The Lion King was originally released in 1994 and I am not ashamed to admit that I saw it twice in the theaters and no, there was not a child with me. I went with friends and we loved every minute of the movie. I have owned this movie on VHS, DVD and am now excited to share that on October 4th there will be a Diamond Edition release of the movie in high definition Blu-ray™ and Blu-ray 3D™.Blu-ray.
If you’ve never experienced “The Lion King” on the big screen, here is your chance! On Saturday, August 27th, there is a special 3D screening of the movie 3D at the Rave University City. The screening begins at 10AM. I am giving 10 passes (which will admit up to a family of four)!
If you cannot make this screening, hakuna matata. There will be a limited special two-week theatrical extravaganza which kicks off Sept. 16, 2011, followed by the Diamond Edition release of the movie for your home entertainment on October 4, celebrating the release of the epic movie “The Lion King” in high-definition Blu-ray™ and Blu-ray 3D™.
(Please to note, October 4th DOES fall during the month of Rach-tober and this will be a perfect gift. Just saying.)
To enter for a chance to win four tickets to see an advanced screening of “The Lion King” on Saturday, August 27th at the Rave University City at 10AM please leave a comment telling me your favorite Disney song (“The Lion King” or other).
Feel free to tweet about this contest for an extra entry (please leave a second comment letting me know)
Enter to win a pre-screening of The Lion King 3D (Philadelphia) from @DisneyPixar via @sayitrahshay:
I have two…Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride from the beginning of Lilo and Stitch…probably because it’s just so cool and sets the stage for my most favorite Disney film. And Kiss the Girl from The Little Mermaid, because the kids I babysat used to dance with me to all of Sebastian’s songs.
My favorite song is “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas. Vanessa Williams sings it and I absolutely LOVE it!
I tweeted!!
I like “Under the Sea” a lot, from The Little Mermaid”. Also, “Belle” from Beauty and the Beast, because I was a bookish girl growing up, eager to see the world so I identified strongly with the song’s theme.
What a fun giveaway 🙂
if Anastasia counts as Disney than the song by aaliyah journey to the past otherwise it would have to be from lion king, nyla’s song.
OMG!! We just introduced this movie to W this past week!! I would flip to take him to this!
My favorite song right now is “You’ll be in my heart” from Tarzan – because that was the movie we had on repeat for the last month and there is nothing sweeter than W swaying and singing it and hugging on me and whispering, “always”. WEEEEEEPS!!

I’m gonna go old school and say “Candle on the Water” from Pete’s Dragon. It’s just such a gorgeous love song in what is otherwise a goofy movie. ‘Course I really love them all. 🙂
I also tweeted. This contest is making me want to listen to my “For the Young at Heart” mix tape, which includes many of these songs. 🙂
My favorites are from the broadway shows. “Endless Night” from the Lion King and “Home” from Beauty and the Beast. I love the Circle of Life, too.
Hope we win. This is my 6yo’s favorite movie of all time!
My favorite is “Kiss the Girl” sung by Sebastian in Little Mermaid. In fact, I love the whole soundtrack but that one especially. Thanks for the contest!!
My favorite is probably Belle from Beauty and the Beast 🙂

Feel The Love Tonight – Lion King 🙂
My favorite song is “Under the Sea” from the Little Mermaid. It not only helped my daughters learn the names of some undersea creatures, it also was very energetic and I used it as a workout song- shhhh.
