Good Reads!

I’ve been tearing through books lately, so quickly that I forget to blog about them.
Sigh!
Here are a few recommendations that I really enjoyed.

Hallie Ephron’s Never Tell a Lie. When I read the flap I first thought, “I don’t want to read this book about this pregnant woman.” So glad I did! This was a thriller in every sense of the word. Ephron kept me guessing and every time I thought I had it figured out, she would create a twist that left me wanting more.

Charlaine Harris’s Dead to the World, Book 4 in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I like that Sookie makes a resolution to not get beat up for New Year’s but really, how many times can she be grabbed, roughed up etc? That said, can’t wait to get my hands on the fifth book!

Suzanne Collins’s Catching Fire. This sequel to the Hunger Games was excellent! I was drawn into Panem and concerned for the safety of Katniss and Peeta. I am excited for the final book.

Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. As a lover of mythology it was fun to read books that explored the stories behind the myths. I also liked that Percy wasn’t a know it all and relied on his parents and friends for help.

Valerie Frankel’s Thin is the New Happy. I could have written this book about one woman’s struggle with accepting and loving her body. Well, not the drugging, slutty Jewish part. maybe the slutty (I kid!).

Christopher Paul Curtis’s The Watson’s Go To Birmingham and Bucking the Sarge. I love CPC.

Looking for my next good read.
