Turning forty has brought new sounds to my life. These sounds are, “Ugh!”, “Ouch!” and “Owwwwww!” when I get up in the morning. I am so freaking stiff and I don’t like this feeling. One of my co-workers was shelving books in my section and she shared that she has gained more flexibility over the last month because she is doing some stretching. Two things she does during the course of her work day are toe touches and tricep stretches. While shelving T will bend over and touch her toes, holding the stretch for a few seconds. When she is in the office she will do a tricep stretch on each arm as she walks through. I do toe touches with storytime but really need to work on my upper body. I am joining FitFluential’s 30 day yoga challenge to work on my flexibility. I don’t expect to be a rubber band woman by June but I do hope that waking up is no longer quite as dramatic as it is now.

Namaste and don’t forget to breathe
Hahaha, I can totally relate. I am right behind ya and I crack and creek all the time. I feel like all of the sudden I turned into a little old lady!
I really need to get mOving and start exercising! Thanks for the motivation!
Awesome improvement! I love yoga. I try to do one class a week, but a couple sun salutations every morning to get my blood flowing. Better than a shower!
Sounds like a great challenge you are doing! I used to do yoga and I miss it. I need to get back to it!
I am not doing yoga but I am doing stretching exercises for PT and it has helped so much. They really do work and make you feel so much better and help decrease arthritic pain.
I love yoga – it makes my whole body feel better. I need to get back to it!!
Good for you for joining the FitFluential’s 30 day yoga challenge. You’re going to not only get fitter but also have so much fun.
Wow, you can definitely see the difference! Good luck on your journey.
Yoga is so awesome for so many things; I really need to get back into it! Good luck to you!!
I have always been pretty flexible but lately not so much. My upper body is not as flexible, that is something I need to work on.
I’ve never actually done yoga, but I really could use some stretching and exercising in general. My kids have worn me down.
