February is …

Freezing!
It has snowed a record 23 inches yesterday!
Brrrr!

To make the day stuck in bearable, we came up with a plan of action.
1) Hit the market with the other folks.
Snowstorms are notorious for sending people running to buy bread, milk and eggs. There were also people stocking up on tea. In this case the person looking for tea was a dude with a tie, shirt and one glove yelling into a cell phone about not being able to find the item on coupon.
There was the inevitable meltdown by a parent who lost it on her kids playing a game something like drag each other round the market floor. Mom’s face was three types of red.
Insults flying between two shoppers in the line next to ours. No, they were not playing and no, they did not know each other.

2) Borrow books, movies and other library items.
Gotta get those circ numbers up!
Seriously, snowstorms are a time to finish that book, start another one, watch that movie you wanted to see for a while and just do other I got a free day stuff. Notice how I did not mention packing.

3) Have cash in house.
Cause I tried and am too out of shape, not strong enough, too lazy, you’ll need it for the local enterprising youth who want to make a few bucks shoveling.

Cause I don’t wanna
We survived, it was cold outside but toasty in the house.
There is more snow forecasted for Tuesday and hopefully this one will include a snow day. I don’t want to have to drive in the snow. But hey, I’ve got a job I love, books waiting for me and more coffee.

Well said…I enjoyed this. I love the tip about leaving cash in the house, b/c I don’t like shoveling either. Problem in our neighborhood is that we didn’t see any kids out who were looking to score some cash….The pics with the blogs are cute as well.
