So.
This is the end of week two of my 100 Push-up challenge. I really wish that I could say some dramatic change has occurred, that I am sporting sleeveless shirts and able to haul heavy boxes with the mere tips of my finger. Insofar the changes are more subtle. I do feel the burn and a firmness that was not there before in my biceps, a burn in my triceps although there is still the appalling waddle of my arm that accompanies any movement and my shoulders are not quite as slumped.
I can now do 13 real push-ups!
Of course while I was doing them all I could think of was “I’m gonna drop! I’m gonna drop! But I did it.
I can do 25 modified push-ups.
In a row.
Yup.
My arms still hurt, my abs still hurt and my chest feels sore. But I feel like…like …a winner. I usually give up so easily when it comes to me. I am a master at quitting or not even trying. But this time I thought it was time to stop my bitching, quit whining and take a few minutes for Rachée.
Goal for week three:
20 Full push-ups (gulp!)
35 modified ones.
